CSTR, plug-flow or dry batch - which reactor?
sourced
A continuously stirred tank reactor is the general-purpose workhorse for slurries; plug-flow suits higher-solids feed and can reach higher loading rates, with dry plug-flow reactors claiming OLR up to about 11 kg VS per cubic metre per day; dry batch or garage-type suits stackable solids. The choice follows feedstock TS and yield target, not preference.
