cbg-sim

Terms

Last updated 19 August 2026

cbg-sim is operated by ClimateWise (climatewise.today). Using the site means accepting what is on this page. Most of it is ordinary; two sections are not, and they are the two worth reading — what the model is and paid deliverables. Anything unclear goes to hello@climatewise.today.

Using cbg-sim

The builder, the calculator, the guided tour, the simulation and everything in Learn work without an account and are free to use, including commercially — model a plant for a client and put the answer in your own report if you want to. An account adds saved projects, share links and briefs, and is also free.

You must be able to form a contract to use the paid parts, and you are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at hello@climatewise.today if you think someone else is using it.

Your work stays yours

Plants you build, the names you give them, the districts you enter and the notes you write are yours. We do not claim ownership of them and we do not sell them. We store them so that you can reopen them and so a share link resolves — see Privacy for what that means in practice.

We do look at aggregate patterns — which shapes of plant get built, which feedstocks get picked, where the model gets abandoned. That is how the engine gets better. It is counted across everyone and is never presented as, or traceable to, your project.

A share link is unlisted, not private. Anyone holding the URL can open it, and search engines are asked not to index it. Treat it as you would treat a document sent by email: confidential because of who you sent it to, not because of how it is stored.

What the model is, and is not

cbg-sim is a steady-state pre-feasibility model. It is a tool for deciding whether a shape of plant is worth taking further. It is not engineering, not financial advice, not investment advice, and not a substitute for a detailed project report, a site survey or a lender’s own appraisal.

The engine is deliberately explicit about its own uncertainty and you should read what it tells you. Every quantity carries a low, central and high value; every parameter carries a provenance status — measured, notified, published, assumed or projection — and the assumption sheet on every run lists which is which. A figure marked projection is our best estimate and has not been measured.

These limits are current and specific:

Debt service
There is no debt schedule, no DSCR and no NPV. Payback shown is simple payback on a steady-state year, which is not the number a credit committee reads.
Seasonality
Feedstock price and availability are annual figures. Monthly cashflow, lean-season working capital and what storage is worth are not in the run.
Your district
Feedstock availability, delivered price, evacuation distance and subsidy entitlement use national reference figures. A real site will differ, sometimes materially.
Commissioning reality
Ramp-up, downtime beyond the stated utilisation, contractual penalties and price renegotiation are outside the model.

Prices, tariffs and subsidy rates change. A figure carries the date and the notification it came from; if it is past its validity the run says so. Check anything you are about to act on.

Decisions you take on the basis of a cbg-sim output are yours. If a number is going in front of a bank, a board or a district authority, have it checked by someone who is professionally responsible for it.

Paid deliverables

Beyond the simulator we produce a set of per-project deliverables — feedstock planning for a location, a policy and subsidy pack, an offtake and evacuation study, a financial model, a feasibility report, a single-line diagram and a 3D plant layout. These are requested against a specific plant and a specific district.

Requesting one is not a purchase and costs nothing. We reply with scope, turnaround and a price for that project. Work starts only when you accept that in writing, and that reply is the agreement for the work: where it differs from this page, it wins.

Finished deliverables are delivered into your account, on the project they were built for, and stay there. You may use them however your project needs — including submitting them to lenders, boards and authorities under your own name. We keep the right to reuse the underlying methods and templates, which are ours; we do not reuse your project’s facts.

Some deliverables are produced by our engine and some by our team. Either way they carry the same limits as the model above, and each one states its sources.

Fair use

The free tier is free because it is cheap to serve. Two things are metered. AI builds have an allowance — a few for a visitor with no account, a monthly figure with one. And the ask bar in Learn falls back from written answers to the reviewed entries themselves once a browser has had its allowance for the day, which is a change of answer rather than a locked door. Neither ever takes away the builder, the simulation, the tour or anything you have saved.

Please do not:

  • Scrape the site, or run automated requests against the engine or the ask bar, without asking us first. We are usually happy to say yes and there is an API conversation to be had.
  • Resell access to the engine, or wrap it in your own product, without a written agreement.
  • Work around the metering, or use several accounts to do it.
  • Attempt to reach another account’s projects, or test the security of the service without telling us. Reports of genuine vulnerabilities are welcome at hello@climatewise.today.

Availability

cbg-sim is in beta and is provided as it is. There is no uptime commitment, no support SLA, and features may change or be withdrawn — the engine in particular is recalibrated as real plant data arrives, so a number you saw last month may move. A run carries the hash of the parameter set it used, which is what lets an old figure be reproduced and explained rather than merely disputed.

Where a paid deliverable is in progress, an agreed turnaround applies to it regardless of the above.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, ClimateWise is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit, lost opportunity, or any loss arising from a decision taken on a modelled figure. For the free service our total liability is limited to nothing having been paid for it. For paid deliverables, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the deliverable in question.

Nothing here limits liability for fraud, or for anything that cannot lawfully be limited.

Ending it

You can stop using the service at any time and ask us to delete your account and everything in it — Privacy says how. We may suspend an account that is breaking the fair-use rules above, and we will say why. Deliverables already paid for survive the account: ask and we will send them to you.

Changes and law

When these terms change materially we update the date at the top and, for anyone with an account, say so by email. Continuing to use the service after that is acceptance.

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at ClimateWise’s registered place of business have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
