How do maize silage and sorghum compare as energy crops?
sourced
Maize silage is among the highest-yielding crop substrates, at roughly 160-200 cubic metres per tonne, and it is the backbone of the European biogas fleet. Sorghum offers a similar structure with better drought tolerance. Both compete with food and fodder land use, which is politically sensitive in India.
